I’ve been spending a lot of time at sea lately, listening to new music with an old friend while hatching plans for exciting new projects. When the sun goes down – still frightfully early, and feeling earlier still in the absence of street lamps – there’s not much else to do but point my camera at the shore and soak up all the light I can. Long exposures and a bobbing steel ‘tripod’ have helped create some interesting abstractions.

Boreal Collective is excited to be contributing to ‘Mapping the Flâneur’, a group exhibition and installation organized by Wideyed/ASA Collective for the Format International Photo Festival in Derby, UK (March 3 – April 3, 2011). The continually transforming exhibition involves work from photography collectives world wide, each contributing photographs on themes of Urbanizing, Transporting and Consuming, printed live in-gallery and posted online in a self-informing blog. Check out the project as it evolves at http://mapping-flaneur.tumblr.com.
